My dear, we're slow dancing in a burning room.

My dear, we're slow dancing in a burning room.

It’s my blog and I can cry if I want to. I hate to have one of “those” posts, but when life hands you lemons, listen to some Mayer. This song is absolutely gorgeous in a sad way about two people who try to stay together even though they know it won’t work. The lyrical imagery is better than I could have ever said it. I had to tune out when he played it at the show last week. I can relate to a lot of his stuff, but this one hits dead center.

It’s not a silly little moment
It’s not the storm before the calm
This is the deep and dying breath of
This love we’ve been working on

Can’t seem to hold you like I want to
So I can feel you in my arms
Nobody’s gonna come and save you
We pulled too many false alarms

We’re going down
And you can see it too
We’re going down
And you know that we’re doomed
My dear, we’re slow dancing in a burning room
